My Favourite TV Shows Right Now

1. Raised By Wolves

This is a channel4 comedy set in wolverhampton my lovely town home. It's so funny to be able to see and hear my place of birth on the TV and recognise the places they are on about.

2. Catfish
Season 4 has hit my tv screen and omg is it the craziest thing ever! All this online secrecy and detective work makes for interesting tv! If you have ever met anyone online and wondered who they really are this show may just put you off ever meeting them!

3. IZombie

I have only seen the pilot episode but it's so great to have a new TV show concept a zombie who helps solve crime! It's a great premise and looks to be a really promising show.

4. Orphan Black

This is possibly my favourite TV show ever. It's only two seasons so you have time to catch up before the third season starts. If you love scifi and clones and action you may just love this. Tatiana plays the different clones so well you often forget she plays everyone add in the complex feat of a scene with herself it's a very technical show.

What tv shows are you all enjoying!

Philip Kingsley Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo

I love getting shampoo samples in my monthly birchbox as I have oily roots and dry ends. So for the last few months I have been able to sample high end shampoos and see if they make a difference. This month I have been using the Philip Kingsley Flaky and Itchy Scalp Shampoo.

The sample size was not too impressive so I didn't get a lot of use out of this. However the three washes I got was enough for me to form an opinion on this.

I really liked the smell of this shampoo it smelt fresh and clean and was not heavily perfumed, which is great if you suffer from itchy and sensitive skin like me. It lathered up well and I felt like my hair was getting a good clean. The first day f washing with the shampoo always felt great. My hair looked shiny, felt soft, and didn't feel weighed down at all. However all my issues with the shampoo occur on the second day hair stage. While my ends would feel nourished my roots would look oily, I can only assume that this shampoo is extra moisturising to help combat the itchy feeling on your scalp. I think it was far too much moisture for my thin and fine hair.

I have to say I'm rather disappointed there is another Philip Kingsley shampoo my hair does not like, but as I have a whole multitude of things going on in my hair it's pretty difficult to find a good shampoo. My search will continue! However I do believe if you gave dry hair and scalp this shampoo may just be perfect for you.

Have you tried thus shampoo? Or any Philip Kingsley products? What are your favourites?

Ebay Makeup Brushes

A few months back I brought some generic brand makeup brushes off ebay.

If you search Jessup brushes you will find lots of sellers. I just ordered mine by sellers in my country (as a lot of these come from China and I didn't fancy waiting ages for delivery) and then picked someone who had a good score and very low negative feedback. I got both sets of brushes a face set and then an eyeshadow set for less then £10! The best part about these brushes are they look very similar to the sigma brushes and the xobeauty range of brushes.

I actually really like all these brushes the face ones are really great for buffing in the foundation and getting a good even coverage. They wash well and I have had no problems with shedding. I'm not the biggest fan of the pointed brush but I have seen a lot of people use this for concealer under their eyes. However it just doesn't work for me.

I love all of the eyeshadow brushes they are great for applying cream base products and powder shadows. They blend out really well and I love the fluffy slanted ones for blending eyeshadows together.

For some budget brushes you really can do a lot worse then these brushes and I have to be honest I think these look and work great! It's really a brilliant little bargain brush set.

Have you tried these brushes? If you have what did you think of them?

I Passed

I have been working so hard for the last 6months to get my deputy managers course at work passed!

Tonight I finally had my sign off and I am so so happy to say I have passed!

At my work for 6months you are a cashier and then they entrust you opening or closing a shop occasionally but you can go months between actually doing it and forgetting all the procedures. However I pushed and pushed to do this on a weekly basis and then go onto the deputy course I am 26 in June and figured I had better get the ball rolling on some kind of career! Come the 2nd of April my area training co-ordinator and my District and Area managers will sign a bit of paper saying I can run a shop by mels elf no problems. Then it is just waiting for an opening!

I am beyond happy that my hard work has finally paid off and I am so close to getting on the career ladder at work.

I am also really proud of my better half Pawl for totally rocking out at his gigs he was so nervous after being away from the scene for about 6years and he and his band are doing really well with people and promotors saying how the band is improving with pawl in it :D

safe to say I am one happy bunny lately!

I hope you guys are ok. Let me know what is making you happy for proud in your life x

Cynthia Rowley Silver Eyeliner

I love a nice soft creamy eyeliner, and once I found my Soap and Glory ones I didn't really think anything would come quite so close to the love I have for those. That was until a little silver eyeliner by Cynthia Rowley made its way to me in my Birchbox.

Firstly the packaging on this little eyeliner is beautiful, I love the gold spots against the matte black pencil and on the shiny black lid. It looks really cute because it is so small too (honestly I have a thing for small cosmetics they are cute and dinky and I just love them). The colouring is really good too.

The pigmentation of the eyeliner is great it makes a really nice inner corner highlight. It is such a creamy eyeliner that it makes it easy to smudge and work with. Have no fear either as once set this is staying put. I love that there is a little bit of work time with this and I think I am going to be using it a lot to highlight or make my grey and silver eyeshadows more intense.

The only downside I have experienced to this eyeliner is that the lid is not the most secure and if I were to carry it around in a makeup bag I would worry about the lid coming off.

Have you tried the Cynthia Rowley Eyeliner? What did you think of it?

Ginvera Green Tea BB Cream

BB creams never really appealed to me as I had not seen or tried one that gave me the kind of coverage I would want in a base for your face, I tend to find that BB creams (especially those available in the UK) are heavier then tinted moisturiser but do not give any extra coverage.

I recently tried a sample of the Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream and this is much more like the traditional Asian BB Creams that started off the BB craze.

This is a little bit thicker then tinted moisturiser but offers almost a medium coverage for the skin. I was surprised at how well this covered by redness and felt soothing on the skin. This claims to nourish skin, have a brightening eddect and protect against UV rays thanks to the spf30 in the BB cream. This claims to give a natural matte finish which I really have to agree with, it looks flawless and like my skin was just better!

To use this I just apply a small amount on my fingers and work into the skin where I need coverage, mostly across my cheeks and my nose area. The cream itself spreads really well so you will not need to use a huge amount meaning you can really get the most out of a sample size like this. I love the fact that I can apply this and forget about it for the rest of the day which is really why I would want a BB ccream, something easy to use with minimal effort but gave me the kind of coverage I wanted. I just do not think I have found one readily available and affordable in the UK yet.

What are your favourite BB creams?

Brown/Green Eyes

I was playing about with a mixture of earthy toned eyeshadows the other day, and accidently gave myself eyeshadow that I really loved wearing!

Please excuse the messy eyebrows I need to find a good place to get them shaped! I used a mixture of the Diego Dalla Palma Snow White and the Huntsman Palette and the Makeup Revolution Acid Brights Palette. I think together the colours worked really well.

I topped it all off with a small amount of liquid liner and mascara, I really liked the finished look, because of the neautral base in the eyes I could play around with lipstick colours too and ended up with some really brave choices! From oranges to lilacs I think it worked well with a lot of options.

What do you think? Have you ever accidently stumpled across your perfect eyeshadow look?

The Reading Habits Tag

I know I know, I have been away for a while with the flu and I have had zero energy for about a week, so struggling at work was bad enough without throwing in the stress of a blog! So I am playing catch up today and scheduling some posts so if the flu decides to rear its ugly head again I will be prepared!

I just saw this tag and decided I would love to do it, it has been a while since I did any kind of tag, especially one surrounding books!

(Monster Book of Monsters - Harry Potter - Photo Is My Own)

1. Do you have a certain place at home to read?
I like to read in bed where I can be all snug and cosy but I also love to wrap up with a few thin blankets and make a little snuggle place for myself on the sofa! It all depends on whether Pawl has claimed the TV or not!!

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I use random bits of paper, mostly bus passes as I read so many books at the same time I just do not have bookmarks for them all (I could never be one of those people who fold the pages over)

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or number of pages?
I can stop reading whenever, something about books just stick in my head, I could even stop mid scentence and it wouldn't bother me too much. However I do like to go to the end of the chapter if I can. I am such a fast reader that it never takes me too long.

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
I will have a bag of biscuits or chocolate by me and usually go through them pretty fast, I might drink a glass of milk occasionally, milk, cookies and books, its like a little slice of heaven!

5. Do you watch TV or listen to music while reading?
If I am downstairs Pawl will usually have the TV on so it turns into background noise, but I love reading in the quiet best, I really want to make a den of comfy things and read my books in there!

6. One book at a time or several at once?
Several! I love reading books and while I find it difficult in life to concentrate on more then one important thing at a time, with a book I can have a few on the go and not confuse or forget where I am in the story, at the moment I have about 7 on the go!

7. Reading at home or everywhere?
Everywhere!I have to be careful on long journeys as I can get travel sick but I will read anywhere, and has to be a book the kindle just doesnt do it for me!

8. Reading aloud or silently in your head?

9. Do you ever read ahead or skip pages?
Nope, even in my favorite books that I have read multiple times (Im looking at you Twenties Girl and Harry Potter) I can never skip ahead!

10. Do you ever write in books?
Nooooooo why would you want to? I suppose I did in school books and I do have a wreck this journal but I find doing that book slightly crazy in my head.....I could never destroy a book, I love them too much!
