Primark False Nails

I have never been a lover of false nails. Some are hugely impractical and get in the way and others just don't fit my fingers very well.

I decided to pick up a pack of nails from primark because I really loved the design and for £1 I wouldn't mind too much if they did not end up fitting me too well.

The design is really nice and I really like that there were twenty nails all in different sizes with glue (shocking at the price of these)

I also really liked that I could wear mostly plain nails with one accent nail on each hand. Too much of this pattern would be a bit over the top!

I like how these look I have since changed out the index finger to a slightly smaller nail size and they look much better now. The only let down with these is that you need a lot of glue for the nail to stick but otherwise they look bad feel great. And the actual length of the nail is really comfortable to wear.

I really love these and won't hesitate to pick some more up!

Skull Makeup

I had a late Halloween outing the other day in the form of a pub quiz! I decided to do some skull makeup and took to lex from madewelook for some inspiration! I decided to go for a look where the skull underneath your skin looks like it's cracking out.

To achieve the look I started to lightly draw in the place I wanted my skull to be.

I also filled it in with white eyeliner. To make it a bit more intense I applied a white eyeshadow over the top. I started to define the cracks using grey eyeshadow and eyeliner. To do the nose and teeth I used black eyeliner defined with black shadow and used black shadow on my eye to make it look hollow.

I completed the rest of my makeup with some grey winged liner and just added some shading where I thought  it was needed!
Here's the final look

This was actually really easy to do and I'm thinking of filming a tutorial on my YouTube channel Allthingskerri but I don't know if it's way too late!!

What did you do for Halloween?

Bioderma Micellar Water

Ever since I tried Micellar Water I have been a total convert and I use it all the time to take off my makeup because it's quick, easy and most importantly nice on my sensitive skin!

I always figured that because Bioderma was the original Micellar Water there was a lot of hype surrounding it and it couldn't really be that much better then all the others could it?

Well thanks to Birchbox this month I get to try a mini sample of Bioderma and I really put it to the test!

I went to a late Halloween celebration night and decided to go with a classic skull for my face. Well not quite so classic as it was like my skin had cracked away to reveal a skull but anyway lots of black makeup to try and remove! I took one large cotton pad and here are my results.

I was actually blown away with how this felt on my skin. It's so gentle and doesn't stink my eczema around my eyes (which were a little puffy after wearing so much makeup!) it removed even my waterproof mascara with ease. I am totally in love with this one and I don't think I will use my other Micellar waters now that's how good this one is. My other ones may require a few scrubs to get rid of stubborn makeup but this glides it all off with ease!

Have you tried Bioderma yet?

November Birchbox Skinny Dip Edition

This box looks beautiful I love the design this month! And if you were lucky enough you could upgrade your box for £4 and get a cute phone case with the same design. Sadly the case didn't fit my phone so I didn't get to do the upgrade.

So what's inside?!

You get
1. So Susan Mascara £18 (full size)
I'm going to keep this one sealed and unused for a while because I have so many mascara a and if I open this O run the risk of wasting it. It's nice to see a full size product in this box.

2. Lord and Berry silhouette lip liner. £9
I thought this was a mini white eyeliner when I first saw it, but it's actually a translucent lip liner! I've been after one of these for a very long time so I'm really excited to use it!

3. Ren Nighttime Facial £32
If I am honest the Ren samples never excite me. This one I've had in a magazine or a different beauty box and like most Ren products it just didn't agree with my skin.

4. Beauty Protector Body Lotion £8 I love the hair set angler from these guys and I've also had a body wash. I don't use a lot of lotions like this because they are too artificial for my sensitive skin but it can go to a good home.

5. Delorom Crème Aquaconfort £35
This is another skin care item. It has aloe Vera in which I love on my eczema prone skin.

6. Thumbs Up Rosa Nail Wraps £6.99
These are a bonus and as we only get five wraps I doubt they are full sized but they are pretty and I am sure I will use them.

All in all its a nice box with a good balance of products in there. There's also a few little bits that I am really excited to use!

What have you had in your box?

Back with a change!!!

Hello strangers! I have been gone for a while I've had a seriously bad eczema flare up on my face legs and arms basically everywhere. I have also been setting up my new business it's going ok so far! But learning how to make 3d models is becoming a bit of a nightmare!!

So Idecided to stay away from blogging as I felt a bit rubbish and just upload pre recorded videos to YouTube. I just had too much to concentrate on and it was making me severely stressed which in turn made my eczema worse. I don't have the balance figured out yet but I have a plan to make my one day off a week now work for me!! I may not post loads but I promise I will try to post!

So what's the actual change going on?? Well I decided to cheer myself massively and got hair extensions and now I legitimately feel like a mermaid! It's been such a mood booster!!

I am so happy with how they blend in with my normal hair! I am going to film a video about how to blend in extensions with fine hair because I have really fine hair but I have learnt a few good tips!

What do you think of the hair extensions?

The Power Of Makeup

I am a huge believer in making yourself feel as comfortable as possible. For me that means being happy with myself and with new found confidence I feel pretty comfortable with or without makeup.

However there is no denying that makeup can really help boost how you feel and that's why today I am sharing my 'power of makeup' face. Half of my fave is made up and half of it isn't.

I have pretty uneven skin and redness around my eyes from eczema so I use makeup to help even everything out. I have pretty thin lips a few breakouts and balding eyebrows (seriously there's bald patches) but none of that really matters to me because I am comfortable in my skin. However when I do make myself up it makes me feel beautiful and no one can take that away from me. Makeup means a lot to different people and for me it's helping improve my mood it's never something I feel like I have to or should be doing! I think that's why I love makeup so much because it is for me.

Why do you love makeup so much? And would you ever share a power of makeup picture?

Orange Lipstick

I was watching a Marylin Monroe documentary the other week, and really fell in love with pictures of Marylin wearing a more subtle orange lip colour. I decided to play about with some colours I already owned to try and recreate a look.

I used the urban decay smokey palette on my eyes for a light grey wash of colour, tried to give myself some really luminous skin. And paired a black winged liner with the orange lipstick.

What do you all think? I love playing around with makeup lately and just taking photos of the outcome. It isn't something I share a lot of on here but I want to share it a bit more!

Also as a side note I wish my eyebrows looked like this I have been mega stressed lately and I have some bald patches in my eyebrows now *sad face*

No7 Protect and Perfect Eye Cream

Skincare is becoming a really big deal for me especially as I am now in my late twenties and really trying to get a skin care routine nailed down that will work for my ageing, sensitive, eczema prone skin!

Really dry skin around my eyes is something I suffer with so much and when I have an eczema flare up, the skin often looks really dry saggy and wrinkled. I really wanted to find something that would help plump the skin back up really inject some moisture and be kind to my skin all at the same time.

I decided that the No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Eyecream might be good for me. It is probably aimed at more mature skin then mine but I figured it would be really hydrating, kind to my skin and help limit the appearance of my newly found eye wrinkles.

This has tonnes of ingredients aimed at reducing your wrinkles and trying to minimise the appearance of new ones. I can say that this does work I don't think it is quite the miracle cream I remember adverts making out but it is really nice at delivering moister and helping plump the skin back up around the eyes, which does help reduce the appearance of my lines.

It is just something that works well and although £17 at first seems a lot for an eye cream when you use your £5 skin vouchers its not too bad a price to pay. I really enjoy using it and find it has really rotated into my skincare nicely! Now I just need to find a serum to help with skin discolouration!

L'Oreal Super Liner in Grey

I love using felt liners I think they are easy to make a great winged liner and I feel I have a lot of control over them. However lately I have been looking for eyeliners with a finer tip to work easier with my hooded eyes.
I saw the L'Oreal ones and really liked how thin and pointed the tip was and also that it came in different colours. I decided on the Super Liner in the colour Grey, and let me tell you grey liner is now my new favourite thing ever.

The liner lasts all day and doesn't fade, is really easy to use and control and the little rubber holder makes it really easy to grab the liner. I didn't think this would make any difference but it really does help with the control of the liner.

I know, I know, a snapchat photo, how professional! But it really shows off the grey colour of the liner which is absolutely beautiful in my opinion and really pairs nicely with my blue eyes. I always used to think that black eyeliner would be the best colour for me but I am totally in love with this liner its just perfect from the way it applies to the colour.

Have you tried the L'Oreal Super Liners? What do you think of them?

Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in Sugar and Spice

So as a very pale skinned makeup lover I find the whole drugstore blush game a mine field at times, Either blushes are too dark or don't show up on my skin. The amount of times I have tried a peach blush that does nothing for me is crazy. I finally got turned onto this Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in Sugar and Spice when someone told me how great it was for those of us with pale skin.

The palette has 8 blush shades and costs just 36 making it super affordable and all of the blushes have a great pigmentation to them.

Not one colour lets this palette down and I am really glad to see a variety of colours from pale to brights to super highlighted and shimmery to your classic matte colours. There's even an amazing peach toned blush in here which I am actually really excited to use.

To me this could easily replace my whole blush collection the only thing it is missing is a more plum coloured blush for the winter months but otherwise this is perfect!

I love taking photos for my blog, and when I got a dslr camera I really wanted to experiment more then just taking pictures of makeup related items!

So on a recent holiday to Yorkshire I pretty much spent all my time taking pictures, and I have ended up with some really nice pictures that I am really happy with.

I figured today I would share a few of them with you.

Malham Tarn is a beautiful place, so peaceful and scenic I have a few pictures here but I am still working through everything and editing some pictures just to make them a bit more crisp.
This is pebble Pawls Uncles dog, I love this photo because it looks like she is smiling!

There really are some scenic views in Yorkshire and this has inspired me to go around more places in the UK and find some great places to photograph. I think I want to go to Cannock Chase next which is not too far from where I live.

A Rather Adult Purchase

I have finally done it! I've gone and brought an adult sofa! Not a second hand one and not a cheap £99 sofa bed from IKEA (although the footstool I got from there was amazing) I have actually ordered a proper adult sofa from SCS and I should have it in about five weeks time!

It's pretty sad that I am this excited over a sofa but the one I have now is so old the foam and stuffing is none existent and you are pretty much sitting on the wooden frame!

The set together costs just under £1000 and we had a great finance deal on it. I can't wait for it to come and start decorating the house. I am hoping that by getting the house looking like it belongs to us and feeling comfortable will make me feel a bit more at ease in my home life!

What was your last 'adult' purchase?

The Joys of Pets

When I moved out of home the one thing I really missed was having a little fur baby that would cheer me up just by looking at them!

Me and Pawl have a pet chinchilla and while it took us a long time to settle on what kind of pet we wanted he really is a little addition to our family, despite the face we think he hates us....

Pets can bring huge amounts of joy, for me its whenever I look at Hyde he makes me smile, from his cute little hands holfing onto things to his grumpy moans when he wants me to put him down and stop holding him. To me Hyde is not an accesory or anything I felt I deserved, he is a pet I wanted to fit in with our lifestyle and love and care for, and in return he nibbles my fingers eats my hair and absolutely ruins any chance of having nice wallpaper (he loves to eat it off the walls) there are no words for the joy this little guy brings me and I just felt like showing him some love and sharing him with the world because while things can be pretty shit he always brightens my day!

He melts my heart.....look at his little paw holding his apple!!!

Five Product Face Challenge!!

I first saw this challenge on a video from My Pale Skin and I thought it looked like it could be a hard but really fun challenge to attempt.

The products I ended up using were

Maybelline Dream Flawless Foundation
Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Palette
L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes
Seventeen Plum Puff Blush
and finally
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick shade 30

I had such fun creating this look and found just how versatile the collection palette is! I ended up using it for my eyes, winged liner, eyebrows even my highlight.

I decided to go for a bold lipstick to really make it a dramatic look because I thought it really complimented the blush and the eyeshadow.

You can see me put the look together here on my youtube channel -

Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo - Creamy Beige - Review

The Maybelline 24hr Colour (color sorry we spell it with a 'u' here) Tattoo pots have been out for a while. I have used a few of them in the past, but none of them really made it into my rotation of makeup or lived up to my higher expectations of them. Do not get me wrong they were good products and the colours were intense but none of they have stayed in my collection.

I saw this creamy beige one the other day and decided to pick it up and give these eye cream pots another go. The consistency of this is a lot creamier then I remember, it doesn't feel as hard in the pot and it is pretty easy to work with on your lids. The main function I use this one for is as a base for my eyeshadows to make them pop a little bit more. But also if I am really lazy it is good for a wash of colour on my lids.

This helps to stop my eyeshadow from creasing and just gives a nice base for shadows to stick to. I love using it and I think it is a perfect colour on me. Besides a base I can use this add a little bit of eyeliner and mascara and have my makeup ready for work in about five minutes!

I don't think this has converted me to getting all of the color tattoos again as I just don't see myself needing them but I am really glad that I picked up Creamy Beige.

What is your favourite Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo colour?!

Old Hollywood Glamour

I love old 50's hollywood inspired glamour looks, and today I decided why not curl my hair a bit and play about with makeup!
This look was suprisingly easy and to make it a true pin up look I would add some black eyeliner in a big old wing!
I used the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette to achieve this almost neutral eyeshadow look and amped up the lips with a younique lip stain. This is a more subdued look for (almost) everyday wear and I really want to do a dramatic version of this soon!

Here is what I used to create this look.

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation
Seventeen Stay Time Concealer
Natural Collection Loose Powder
Benefit Dallas Blusher
The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer Highlighter
Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
Younique Lip Stain in Sappy

Collection - Eyes Uncovered Nude Palette - Review

So who still goes to call Collection, Collection 2000? I do, maybe because I am too old an stubborn and for me it will always be Collection 2000!

Anyway today I am reviewing the Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Palette. This is a handy travel friendly palette of six beautiful nude colours. To me this is the drugstore version of the Naked Basics Palette. It is also much more purse friendly!

The packaging on this is nothing special if I am honest however Collection have put in a pretty strong magnetic closing clasp, so while it is all housed in a cardboard box, it still does feel secure when closed. On the back of the box they have also included names for the shadows rather then the usual numbers which is a really nice touch to see from a drugstore affordable brand.

The shade range is nice with each colour being completely use-able, only one colour lets the palette down for me (the third colour biscuit) because it just doesn't show up well on me but would give a nice shimmer to my highlight areas like under the brow bone.

You can see the full swatches above and the colours are surprisingly really easy to work with and blend really nicely. I think my favourite colours are buttercream, brown sugar and espresso. I actually have to say I love using this palette and it has become my go to for my work makeup because everything I need is right there and there is no struggling to find colours that work well together but also be appropriate for a work environment. It has probably been one of my favourite discoveries this year and I am so glad I picked it up.

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation - Review

The Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundations was one of those products that just explode onto the blogging scene and everyone wants to try it, so as per my usual self I tend to wait for the hype to wind down so I can see if it is a product people carry on using before I decide to get it or not. I have been burnt before by falling into the blogger hype and not loved the product as much as I expected!

So onto the actual foundation. The consistency of this is quite thin, its a light/medium coverage that is really buildable. So it is actually my much preferred formula. I do love how this applies, I love how it looks on my skin but most of all I love how in photography and on camera this really does look flawless. It almost looks like a second better skin.

My base does look flawless in it however this probably wont suit you if you have pretty bad acne, it also wont suit you if your skin is really dry, this clings to a few of my dry patches and does settle a bit in the lines around my eyes. However that being said they are small issues I think I am mostly happy to work around as it hasn't stopped me from using the foundation.

This wears really nice, it does transfer a little bit so you can find it on your fingers if you do touch your face and I do find it slightly oxidises as the day goes on, but again these are small issues as genuinely I feel its a nice foundation. I would love to see Maybelline come out with a serum or anti-ageing version to this foundation as I think it would really combat those issues with dry patches. But other then that this is a good solid foundation and while I may experience a few issues other people may not.

Have you tried the Rimmel Dream Flawless Nude Foundation? What did you think of it?

August Birchbox 2015 - The Emoji Box!

This months beauty box is hella cute and also packed with amazing goodies! It's given me complete heart eyes!

The box is a really cute design with all the little emoji's on and inside there are some amazing goodies! I don't think anything it full size this month which is a shame but everything is a decent size.

1. Lord and Berry Blusher -Lotus
2. Rituals Rice Scrub
3. Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo
4. BioNike Cleansing Water
5. The Balm Desert Bronzer
6. L.Erickson Ponytail Holder
7. Birchbox Emoji Stickers.

Not sure what I'm going to use the stickers for, but the rest of the box is impressive. The scrub and shampoo are decent sample sizes and the makeup bits are sure to last a while. Also can we all just call bobbles ponytail holders from now on?!

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette Swatches

I think when Urban Decay announced they were doing a new Naked palette everyone got really excited even more so when it was a very beautiful looking Smoky eye palette. The Naked Smoky palette is really sturdy plastic with a magnetic closing clasp. It just looks so beautiful with this brown smoked 3D effect to the packaging.

The design continues on the underneath of the palette, although not so strong as on the front, and if you look closely is also on the brush. Which I think is a really nice attention to detail. You get your usual 12 shades in here and only o

Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Lipstick - Shade 45

I love the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks. I think they are really nice to wear, are really long lasting, and most importantly come in some really great colours that can become your amazing everyday shades.

When I saw that there was going to be a Nude collection being released I actually lost my mind a little bit. I thought I would actually find my perfect nude shade!

As beautiful as this lipstick is sadly its just not my perfect nude shade. The boots I went to had this awesome chart in the Rimmel stand where it told you what Kate Moss nude lipstick would go with you hair and or skin undertones. I eventually picked up shade 45. Which I think you will all agree looks beautiful just the right brown nude with a hint of pink that is just stunning. I fell in love with it based on how this looked. And there happened my downfall. When it came to actually trying it on the finish is not what I want or even what I like. It is kind of like a shimmer/frost it is so reflective so sometimes it pulls really pink, other times it can look really pale and wash me out. Honestly this is my own fault, I love a satin or a matte lip and I should have just swatched this in the store to see if I would like it.

I am in no way saying this is a bad lipstick it looks beautiful on people and is even better if you like that shimmery finish, but I just don't like it as much as I hoped I would and I feel really let down by it! Other then that the lipstick lasts really well, I find it can come off quickly if you eat or drink however it tends to fade all at the same time, but the great thing about a nude lipstick is you can reapply it so quickly without having to be perfect and it will still look good.

Have you tried the range of Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Lipsticks? What one is your favourite?

Natural Collection Loose Powder - Neutral Translucent

It has been such a long time since I owned a loose setting powder that I never thought I would buy one again, yet here I am at 26 with a new one in my makeup collection. After looking around at powders from high end to low end, I finally decided on the Natual Collection Loose Powder in Neutral Translucent.

It is really finely milled and is nice and smooth when applying to your skin, and despite there were different offerings in the 'translucent' shade like warm, neautral, and cool toned it works well on my skin colour.

I use this underneath my foundation as it gives a better finish and also to set underneath my eyes when I apply concealer to help stop creasing. I actually prefer this to many of my pressed powders as I can apply less or more without it looking cakey.

I also like to apply loads of this underneath my eyes when doing dark smokey looks because it catches all the fallout and is easy to dust away with a big fluffy face brush. I know there are many more uses for loose powder in the beauty world and I am excited to try them out now that I have this loose powder.

£1 Matte Lip Laquer - Shade 18

I saw a few people talking about these MeNow Liquid Lipglosses that are a really affordable way to get matte lip lacquers. They can be found on eBay and cost as little as £1.

I know, £1! What a little beauty bargain from eBay. The specific shade I want to talk about today is shade 18, this is being called the dupe for Lime Crime Cashmere and with all of the things that have happened with the company I was glad to see an affordable alternative. You will have to forgive the packaging it has seen much love and the writing is all rubbing off!

Shade 18 is a nice nude with a purple grey undertone. I absolutely love the colour which is why it has become one of my favourite lip colours to wear with a really dramatic eye look.

You can see the colour clearly here. It has a light purple undertone but remains quite neutral on the lips. I do love the colour of this however the formula is really drying and needs a lip balm over the top. I also find it can stick together in the corners of your mouth which isn't exactly comfortable at times! So a lip balm is essential with this lipstick. The wear time of these is great, it hardly fades and is actually really difficult to remove (which is bad at the end of the day for makeup removal but great because you know its going to last)

I have a few more of these because I do think they are great bargains, but not enough for me to go out and get the whole collection. I would rather just spend the £3 on the MUA or Makeup Revolution lip lacquers because I like the styling of those better.

DIY Coffee Scrub

Over the weekend I had a go at making my own mini Coffee Scrub Bars.

I use a few natural ingredients for my skin care on my body because I suffer from eczema. I decided that a coffee scrub could be ideal for my stomach and legs as it lifts away dead skin and can also help combat cellulite and who doesn't want that?!

I used three ingredients for the scrub.
 Coconut Oil
 Organic Oats
 Coffee Granuals

I melted the Coconut Oil and added in the coffee Granuals until I had a very thick paste like substance I then added in some oats and placed it all the set in the fridge. When it was done I cut up into small chunks and left whatever I wasn't using in the fridge.

The scrub works really well, the oats are soothing on my skin and the coffee really works wonders as a scrub. My eczema looked visibly better because the coconut oil gives some much needed moisture to my skin. However I will say do not use too much of this as the coffee can stain the bath tub if it doesn't dissolve properly and you can run the risk of coconut oil clogging up your drains. I havnt had any issues and find that pouring some boiling water down my drains after I have used coconut oil helps.

I think this is a massive success for me but because it can be a bit messy I am not sure how often I will use this scrub. I think for my next DIY scrub I will look for something less messy!

Vintage Moustache

I have took this picture from a recent look book I filmed for my YouTube channel (my first ever one I'm excited for it to be published) and I figured I would share an outfit with you all on here.

The outfit is pretty simple so it fits my style which is relaxed and comfortable.

Firstly while editing the video I didn't realise I looked quite so tanned!! I never thought I would look good with a tan but I actually quite like it!!

The top is quite old and is from urban outfitters and the jeans are vintage Levi. I love Levi shorts and I go to so many charity shops on the hunt for them because they can get really overpriced when you buy them online! The bangle which you can't see very well is from black tied I love their bangles and I'm going to order a personalised one soon. You can look for my YouTube channel by searching Allthingskerri and you should find me! The look book should be up later tonight so for now enjoy the sneak peak!

The Balm - Mary-Lou Manizer

I have wanted this highlighter ever since I saw it cropping up on youtube. I've really been getting into the whole strobing movement and making your face look glowing and I figured why not give Mary-Lou Manizer a go, especially as everyone seems to love it!

The packaging on this is absolutely beautiful! I love the retro pin up feel to The Balm's packaging and this one is no different. I love that they also include a big mirror in the packaging. It just gives it that nice touch. As a little side note this closes really firm, there is no chance of the lid wiggling about a bit, so I really feel that the highlighter is being protected and holds in the packaging perfectly.

This is so insane as a highlight it is amazing. It has a nice champagne undertone and from pictures I didn't think it would suit me 100%, because I have fairly pink undertones, but I haven't used anything else for days! It looks very glittery here but it is just an intense sheen on your skin. I can find it looks obvious so I like to apply a facial spritz or a setting spray when I use this, just as it isn't so in your face then. However that is just my personal preference as I love a more natural makeup look instead of the full coverage look. If you are looking for a highlighter to make you look like you glow like a goddess I highly suggest you pick this one up. It is worth every penny!
