Urban Decay Naked 2 Dupe - Makeup Revolution Iconic 2

Dupe Alert!! I think this is my first ever dupe post with actual swatches and stuff! I love my naked 2 palette from urban decay and I love it, the cool toned colours are perfect for my pale skin. So when I saw Makeup Revolutions iconic 2 palette I knew I would get it to compare the two!

The two palette have a similar array of cool toned neutral colours with lots of options for a variety of looks.

On the left we have Urban Decay and on the right is Makeup Revolutions offerings.

The above two pictures are the same swatches you just could not see the bottom ones very clearly in the first picture.

Again the same swatches but so you can see the bottom ones too.

I think the metallic colours are pretty close, especially the gold and copper tones they look almost identical. However the more matte colours in the Makeup Revolution shadows are slightly under pigmented compared to the Urban Decay shadows, especially the black shade, the black in Urban Decay is just the most pigmented black shadow I own.

For £4 the Makeup Revolution offering is a great alternative if you do not have a lot of spare money! But in my opinion I would rather wait a few months and save up for the Urban Decay Palette especially if you want a quality palette you will use day after day, if you are just after a few shades then the iconic 2 palette may be for you.

Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray

As a girl with very thin fine flat hair I am constantly trying to thicken up my hair and give myself a little bit of boost in the hair department!

Step in Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray. I got this in a magazine and I hunted up and down for it until I got my hands on it as I knew I couldn't afford to buy this if it didnt like it or it didnt make any difference.

I tried this every way I could think of, by having wet hair and spritzing this in then drying my hair. half drying my hair spritizing this in then completely drying my hair, using it on my hair dry and just nothing worked! I just can not get this to give me any volume at all. It can give me a little bit of texture but no volume. It makes my hair feel sticky and horrible and I just can not wait for the next time I can wash my hair to get this stuff out! Sorry Bumbe and Bumble I know lots of people love this but it just does not work for me at all.

Makeup Revolution Salvation Lip Lacquer Rebel

When I saw that Makeup Revolution has released some new colours in their Salvation Lip Lacquers Rebel was on the top of my list of ones to get! How could I pass up another red matte lip colour? As if I didn't own enough already!

However this is slightly special, most of the colours I own a of a red variety, this is still red but it leans to more pink berry shades that looks absolutely amazing!

I have to say I think they have changed to formulation of these, it feels easier to put on and looks nicer too. It no longer feels as obvious on the lips and the packaging it comes in is better too! I now just want them to get rid of the writing font for where it says Salvation Lacquer because to me it is just not pretty which is why you can not see it in my picture!!

You can buy the Makeup Revolution Lip Lacquer here for £3. It is a complete bargain and this one has jumped right up to the top of my lip products I love just after my Lime Crime Velveteens!

New Lip Combo!

For ages I have been trying to make Lime Crime Chinchilla work for me now my hair is darker. Chincilla is such a beautiful grey lilac colour but with my pale skin it makes me look a bit dead!!

I was thinking if I got a warmer purple underneath it could look really nice on me!

On the underneath of my layer of lipsticks I have Makeup Revolution in Depraved with Chinchilla over the top. It takes just a little bit of the grey away and gives it that warmer tone I was after. It no longer washes me out and it actually compliments me more. I think if I warmed up my skin with some bronzer it would look even better.

Kryolan Glossybox Highlighter - Cashmere

When glossybox landed a couple of months ago I was so happy to see a little surprise from Kryolan. It is a brand I have wanted to try for a long time because it is so well known for being of high quality products.

The kryolan highlighter is a cream highlighter which I am seriously impressed with! It gives such a glow from within. I have never been a huge highlight lover I own powder ones but they never seemed to do much.

This was such a surprise to me that I loved this so much. It does feel a little bit oily on the skin at first but it really settles in and wears nice through the day. I like to wear this with my hair up high and dab this over the high points of my face. So the top of my cheekbones, my cupids bow and down my nose, and a little bit on my brows.  It adds a nice sheen and gives me a subtle glow that I really like.

As you can tell from the swatches this is a champagne coloured highlight, I have left it quite obvious on my hand here but it creates a really subtle glow.

I Love Makeup Definition Palette

When I was browsing through Makeup Revolutions website a few days ago I came across the I <3 Makeup Definition palette, it looked so much like the sleek palettes that come with a bronzer blush and highlight that I instantly found it in my basket!

I actually really like the packagine on this, sometimes I think makeup revolution can pick rather ugly fonts to go on the packaging but this looks so nice the metallic pink writting contrasts so well with the ultra glossy plastic casing! It closes with a satisfying snap which is really important as too often I break blushes as they do not close as tightly as I want them too and the ruin easily in my bag!

I actually picked the shade range medium here as I liked the blush colour better. It is almost a dusty rose pink that is completely matte. Bonus points for the bronzer being matte too, it makes it a great contouring product!  The highlight is a nice bright peachy colour but it is just not as shimmery as I would like.

As you can see the colours are not too dark fo me even though I picked the medium shade in the definition palette. The blush and bronzer are really amazing here and the blush probably makes the whole palette better. But really the highlight lets me down, it is abvious I have it on rather then giving me a 'glow from within' look that I like better with cream products.

I am wearing it here and you can see that ith a light hand the colours are not too intesnse for my pale skin and they suit it really well! Now if they would release these with different coloured blushes maybe a lilac purple toned one, a peachy one and a plum colour I would snap them all up so quickly!

At £4.99 this is a bargain for the blush and the bronzer by themselves. You can find the I <3 Makeup Definition palette here.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer

In my quest for a perfect concealer I have tried many different formulations from creams, to sticks, to liquids and only a few really pop out at being any good!

I decided to pick up the healthy mix concealer as I really love the healthy mix serum foundation and I figured it should be as good as the foundation really!

The Healthy Mix concealer shade I picked up was 52. It is quite a thick formula which I was not expecting at first but it does a really good job for all those heavy duty needs. Such as covering spots or really dark under eye circles. The more peach tones can really counteract any blue in you under eye circles so it really is a great little product for that!

As you can probably tell this is just a little bit too dark for me, so I tend to use it over spots only now. It does a really good job at minimising the redness and masking them so they are not so obvious. I do use this under my eyes when they are highly hydrated and I am having a really good skin day otherwise I can find this collects in my fine lines and makes them more noticeable which no one really wants. The formula is easy to blend out but if you use too much I feel you could run the risk of looking 'cakey'

Because of the dark shade I have I don't use this as much as I would like to and if I could find it in shade 51 I think this would be a really good concealer for me!

Philip Kingsley - Elasticizer - Review

When I received this in a She Said Beauty box many moons ago I was so excited as I thought the answers to my hairs needs had arrived!! A pre-shampoo mask that would improve the texture of my brittle hair and stop the snapping! Hooray!

However it appears that I was to be left disappointed. The Elasticizer didn't do much for my hair at all. I put it down to my hair being too damaged from over bleaching and left it at that. So when it arrived in a recent glossybox I was happy to try again.

philip kingsley elacticizer

My hair is in much better condition now, the ends are still a bit brittle but it is no longer over processed. So I had high hopes that the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer would add a bit of life to my coloured hair, give it some shine and make it easier to manage.

However sadly I have been left disappointed again. The whole process just seems a faff to me, having to wait 20mins before I even shampoo, and then finding I need to shampoo two or three times to get the product out of my hair. It is far too heavy for my fine hair and just makes it a bit lank and greasy looking. Not what I was after at all. I avoided my roots like the plague but they still looked terrible after using this.

Despite all the glowing reviews I just do not think it is suited to fine hair, and is probably made for those with thicker hair. If you are after a bit of nourishment and moisture a simple hair oil will do the job far cheaper then this will.

The Ten Year Old MP3

Rooting through my draws last night I found this little beauty containing 95 songs from the early 2000's

A Samsung Yepp 512mb MP3 player that is at least 10 years old!I cant believe this actually still works!

This thing has survived 3 house moves and 3 full on moves to and from university. It contains a library of memories from my mid teens to my early 20's. So for a bit of a nostalgic post I figured I would share some of the most meaningful songs with you!

1.Sugababes - Ugly

I love this song even now, the message is powerful and always makes me feel better about my appearance.

2. The Killers - Mr Brightside

My Anthem!! This was always played, going out? Stick on Mr Brightside, getting to that midnight tired point while clubbing ask the dj to play Mr Brightside, doing anything at all in life? Stick on Mr Brightside! It brings me back to my first year of uni instantly it was pretty much an anthem for everyone who went to my uni, it picked everyone up and guaranteed to have us on the dance floor and you could hear it being blasted out of speakers everywhere during essay writing and especially dissertation year!!

3. Mayday Parade - If You Wanted A Song Written About You All You Had To Do Was Ask.

I loved Mayday Parade I was gutted they were mostly an American band that not a lot of people in the UK knew about! They were a mix between Blink, Fall Out Boy mixed with most other slightly emo punk bands! This was my breakup anthem!! I played this all the time!! 'And I hope this makes you happy now, that the flame we had is burning out'

4. Blink182 -Feeling This

All Blink songs can be played here! All of them. Get every album and bask is the glorious 90-00's pop punk feels! I was lucky enough to see them a couple of years ago on the reunion tour and amidst all the mid twenty year old reliving their youth there were a lot of younger fans! It never amazes me how many people blink pleased with their music! They seriously are brilliant!

5. Gym Class Hero's - Girlfriend

I loved this song, I love the video it was so cute and Katy Perry was in it as she used to date the singer! This was just so catchy, I used asked my boyfriend if he remembers it and he is currently going around going 'babababa' listen and you will get what I mean!

6. Linkin Park - Numb

I love Linkin Park so much, one band I wish I could see!! Breaking the Habit is a particularly good video for a song!

7. Muse - Starlight

I was lucky enough to see muse and they sound even better live! Black Holes and Revelations was an album I always had on in my second year of uni!

There are other bands on there ranging from good charlotte to shania twain! I loved and listened to it all! So there is my little trip back into memory lane! It was fun!

What songs instantly take you back?

MAC Prep and Prime Primer

I have been looking for a good primer to fill in my fine lines and make my foundation last longer. When I saw that the MAC facebook page were giving away free samples of prep and prime I jumped to fill in all my details and awaited eagerly for the sample to arrive.

I enjoy using this, the consistencey is nice it doesnt feel overly silicone based. It is a nice primer, it goes on really easily, and actually feels a bit like applying a moisturiser there is no sticky residue to be seen.

As for keeping my foundation in place it really does, I have been told that this is probably more suited to oily skin my a MAC artist and I totally agree as on my nose and cheeks things just looked better but on my drier chin and forhead it really did not make that much of a difference. It does however make my foundation look smoother and I find I do not have to apply powder as much. For the £21 price mark I think I will see if I can find anything that does a similar job for a little less money.

New Nail Combo

I am not the biggest nail polish fan in the world, honestly the faster I can get it on the better, but today being a day off work and not really wanting to do the washing I painted my nails and found an absolutely amazing combination!

I used
Models Own - Gun Grey
Nails Inc - Matte Top Coat
Models Own - Hayleys Comet
Nail Girls - Top Coat

I always manage to ruin the very tips of my nails, what can I say? I am impatient and just can't seem to wait for them to dry! But I really love this combination its almost an emerald green/black/purple look I cant stop moving my nails and admiring it!

Glam Glow Super Mud Mask Review

Ok this has been a long time coming, I tried the Glam Glow Super Mud Mask ages ago, and have been trying something similar to do a comparison post, as well as individual posts for both! This post will be very very picture heavy!

Today I am finally ready to put up my post!

Glam Glow Super Mud Mask - allthingskerri
I found out that my local beauty salon carries the Glam Glow range I got excited! I got upset when I found out it was about £50 a tub! Not something I could afford to pay out if it didnt work. The risk was just too great!! I hear people say this is the better out of the Glam Glow Masks but I wanted to try it out first, insane excitement arose again when the salon told me they sold testers!! Now I got two knowing one would just not cut it for a good mask as I like them to be quite thick (despite this saying you can apply it really thinly)

Below I will be inserting UNEDITED pictures so you can really see what it looks like.

Before, I have visible pores on my nose and a few on my cheeks, quite an unever and red toned skin, and a few spots lurking under the skin!

I never thought that this applied evenly, and there are some large chunks in the mask while applying that almost exfoliate the skin a little bit.
Glam Glow Super Mud Mask - allthingskerri

It soon starts to dry and look like you are painting yourself in camo, but you can see by my nose where some of those larger particals were,

Glam Glow Super Mud Mask - allthingskerri
You can instantly see it drawing out all the excess oil in your skin, its both gross and amazing to watch!
Glam Glow Super Mud Mask - allthingskerri
This was my nose, easily the most disgusting part!
Glam Glow Super Mud Mask - allthingskerri
My forhead was pretty oily too!
Glam Glow Super Mud Mask - allthingskerri
My chin also! Which was not especially oily but it did help to draw out some good spots!!
Glam Glow Super Mud Mask - allthingskerri

And here is me after washing off the mask, I think my forhead looks less oily my redness is not so bad but mostly my skin just looks better, almost glowy!

Glam Glow Super Mud Mask - allthingskerri

The day after this mask is amazing, makeup goes on so much better, my skin feels so much smoother, spots are drawn out and do not last as long, I seriously think this would make a great on the spot treatment. and As you wait the 15mins this is on your face, it is amazing to see the gung it pulls out! The only downside to the Glam Glow Super Mud Mask is the price, but seeing how much better my skin was after one use, I am serisouly considering buying it!
