Nail Of The Day

Oh I am in love with my models own nail polishes that I scored in my haul the other day! The glitters are seriously impressive and I love love love them!

I decided to wear both glitters on my nails as I just could not decide which one to wear first!

L-R Models Own Northern Lights and Models Own Dancing Queen

I just love these, Dancing Queen has just enough glitter particles to look like a good nail polish by itself, but would look equally great over greens, golds and pretty much any colour, and Northern Lights, with 2 good coats gives amazing glitter pay off. It is one of the most beautiful colours I have ever seen I cant wait to use it more and have it next to a dusty pink. I think it will really look exquisite.

What Nail polishes are you loving lately?

My Top 4 Lipsticks To Put A Smile On My Face

I am in love with lipsticks! There I said it. Should I make my way to bblogger rehab now??

I find that when I feel a bit down or I need a little pick me up, a good lippie always makes me smile! Yes I may be vain for that but it is also just the power of makeup!!

When I feel like those days there are four choice lipsticks I always reach for without a doubt!

revlon lip butter tutti frutti, revlon lip butter raspberry pie, collection perrie, lime crime red velvet

So Left to Right we have,
Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Fruitti
Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie
Collection Little Mix Lipstick in Perrie
Lime Crime Velvetine Red Velvet

This is Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Fruitti
I feel like is soft enough yet bold enough to bring a bit of life to my face, I had never considered orange as a lipstick until I discovered this and now I cant get enough of it! Its soft and silky on the lips without being too in your face. It make me smile and paved the way for a much bolder orange lip colour adventure. However this has remained my favorite and is one lipstick I reach for all the time.

This is another Revlon Lip Butter this time of the Raspberry Pie variety!
It is this beautiful pink/purple tone lipstick and honestly I got it because it looked so amazing on miss budget beauty, that I had to have it myself! I think its fun and bright and perfect all year round!

This is Little Mix's offering by Collection (formerly Collection 2000) and the shade is Perrie.
It is a daring purple colour and I had wanted to try a full on purple for ages so when I saw this I couldn't pass it up! I wish I had more lip space so you could really see the colours but my thin pale lips will have to do! This is a fantastic colour and while it sometimes does feel a little though to get on the lips it feels so amazing on and lasts a long time!

And finally possibly my number one lipstick choice, it has to be Lime Crimes Velvetine in Red Velvet. Nothing really compares to it for a red lipstick. It goes on glossy and dries to a matte finish and lasts hours and hours!!

I like throwing on a bold lipstick to brighten up the day!

How Much Did My Face Cost Today?

It has been a very long time since I have done a 'How Much Did My Face Cost' post, so I figured why not dust it off and re-do one of my favorite posts!

Please excuse all messy backgrounds, when me and Pawl moved into our house I laid claim to what was the 'front living room' there's two and we just didn't need them so I said I would take it and have it as my makeup/blogging/book room and he would keep his amp and guitars in there. Since then an antique dining table (with no chairs) two dismantled beds, three previous tenants letters, and a darth vader potato head, there is also a Boba Fett life size cardboard cutout. I secretly love those last two additions, I am pretty happy with them!! Rather then being the room I envisioned blogging out of, it turned into a massive junk room! Trust me although this is messy is is the best view I can give you!! Other then my washing drying on the radiator!!

So onto the facial products!!

Foundation - Rimmel Match Perfection - Ivory - £5 (on offer at the time)
Concealer - Benefit Fake Up - Light - £18.50
Blusher - Seventeen Plum Puff - £3.49
Bronzer - Benefit Hoola - £23.50
Eyes - Urban Decay Naked 2 -Foxy and Tease - £37
Eyeliner - Seventeen Make Your Mark Eyeliner - Black - £3.99
Mascara - Rimmel Lash Accelerator - Black - £7.99
Lips - Lime Crime Velvetine - Red Velvet - £13.50

Total Cost £112.97

WOW. Now this seems like an excessive amount especially since I have struggled this month with money as I had unexpected things to pay for!! I could really have done with that £100 right about now! However I do always find that when I have not worn makeup for a while I really slap on the more expensive stuff and out comes a lot of Benefit cosmetics! I just can not get enough of them! I also love using seventeen lately they have really upped their game with some of their latest products! I especially want to get my eyebrows re-shaped (they are looking a bit unruly) and really test out their eyebrow kit!

How much is your makeup face worth? Send me a link if you have ever done this type of post!

Positivity Sunday

Welcome to my new blog segment!

Every Sunday I will post something to be positive about or tips on how you can be more positive, or something I need to work on.

My life has taken quite a turn at the end of last year and I had a lot of bad things to over come, and a lot of horrible feelings festering inside me. I have, with the help of my friends and family started to come out of my slump. I figured it would be a nice addition to my blog if I wrote about positivity! Anything that has made me feel better that week any mind-set I have that has improved my thinking, or just some nice words that cheered me up!

So for my first week here it is.

A new activity can really make a difference to what you feel, it can help take your mind off things, or give you something new to concentrate on. I started going to a pub quiz with Pawl in November. At first we would always go together but it didnt take me long to be able to go without Pawl which was even better for me, I had always been the kind of person with little friends, and most of the people I know now are from Pawl (most of my friends from uni do not live by me so I see them maybe once a year) it was great for me to make new friends that I feel are mine as well as Pawls. Meeting new people and having a nice carefree and fun time without any pressure or stress is great help.

It is nice to escape for an hour or two and go to some place different. ipIt takes my mind of things and if I am having a bad week its a good chance to have a laugh! Whether your 'new thing' is big or small it all helps to spice up life.

Have fun, and stay positive guys ^_^

40 Questions Beauty Tag

I saw this tag while searching for beauty related tags I could do. I really like the range of questions so if you have already done this tag or are planning on doing it. Please leave me a comment below so I can go and check it out!

1.How many times do you wash your face?
At least twice. Once in the morning and again at night. I might do it more especially if my eyes are playing me up.

2.What skin type do you have? (combination, dry, oily).
I have combination skin. My cheeks are usually dry and I get a bit oily on my nose and forehead.

3.What is your current facial wash?
I use Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean. I love the smell of it and it leaves my skin tingley clean!

4.Do you exfoliate?
I do sometimes. Not often as my skin can be sensitive, but I use superdrugs botanical microdermabrasion exfoliator.

5.What moisturiser do you use?
I try to keep it simple really. I do use Simple's facial moisturiser either the normal one or the anti aging one. It just depends what I grab!

6.Do you have freckles?
Yes just across my nose. They don't bother me at all. I know most people either love or hate their freckles! They are a very marmite topic!

7.Do you use eye cream?
Yepp I do. Right now again it is simple's eye cream. I did have clinique all about the eyes but I ran out a few days ago, and can't afford to replace it!

8.Do you or did you have acne prone skin?I am lucky that I seem to have my moms skin! Neither of us had acne we get the odd few spots. I just have red cheeks!

9.Did you ever have to use Pro-activ? No up until recently it was an American thing I only ever saw it on late night tv shopping adverts. But I think you can get it in superdrugs now.

I think they look beautiful on other people but just not me! I have quite long lashes anyway so I an lucky!

This is something I don't follow some mascaras get better over time! If I am getting close to a year I throw it out!

15.What brand of mascara do you use?
I use Revlon or Maybelline.

16.Sephora or MAC?
I have only shopped at a mac store once and honestly I was not overly impressed! I have never been to sephora either as we don't have them where I live.

17.Do you have a MAC Pro-card?

18.What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
My fingers for foundation and concealer and lots of brushes for everything else!

25.What do you think of pigment eyeshadows? I used to have loads but they were messy. Now I don't have as many but I do keep a few shimmer ones for adding extra oomph on a night out!

26.Do you use mineral makeup? I do have a mineral foundation but I do not really use it.

27.What is your favorite lipstick?
It changes all the time from pinks to purple to red to natural. I never think you can in wrong with a red lip and my favorite has to be lime crime velvetine in red velvet.

28.How about lipgloss?
I don't usually use gloss I have a couple but I can't say I am a big fan!

29. What is your favorite blush to use? Right now it is seventeen plum something or another! I an pretty sure it is their only plum shade!

30.Do you buy your makeup on ebay?No there are too many fakes! I remember buying mac brushes for not much less then you got in store and what I got was some cheap knock offs! Never again!

31.Do you like drugstore makeup? Yes most of my collection is high street/drugstore. Most of it is filtered down from the more expensive brands and it is all just br good in my opinion. Although I do have a weakness for benefit cosmetics!

32.Do you go to CCO’s? (cosmetic company outlets)I don't think we have any of those where I live but I will get some more expensive stuff from QVC if they are selling it, you can get some pretty good deals Ames even offer interest free payment options at time!

33. Did you ever consider taking make-up classes? At a time yes. I wanted to go back to college and learn makeup and hairdressing because it was what I was interested in at the time. But now I have found my makeup style I don't really want to anymore!

33.Are you clumsy in putting on makeup? Not clumsy but for some reason when doing my eyes I can never get the second side I do to look the same. Does anyone else have that problem?

34.Name a makeup crime that you hate!
There's so many. Lets start with the wrong foundation colour I spotted an assistant trying to sell the completely wrong colour to a girl in superdrug the other day. Its terrible. Or unblended blush. It is not war stripes blend that shit it! And caked on makeup, need I say more.

35. Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones? I like neutral eyes right now and bright lips. I do experiment and my favorite lip colour right now is orange!

I like the classic beauty and any pin up kind of makeup. I like to follow and try a lot of things. I think Mila Kunis always looks great though!

36.If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Mascara if I only put one makeup item on it is mascara!

37. Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Yes I do quite a lot really. I go to work without it and I don't really feel like I need it. I just use it when I feel like feeling a bit girly!

38. Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
I am not going to say I am the best looking girl in the world but as I am happy in my own skin I don't need makeup to make of feel better about myself!

39. In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
I love benefit and Revlon I think they both offer great products that everyone needs. I know people may be shocked I have not picked mac but I feel that is more for professionals not your everyday girl like me!

40.What do you think of Makeup?
I love it for how it makes me feel when I wear it. I don't need it for confidence but theres no feeling quite like a nicely applied face of makeup. Especially if you rock a bright lip. Makeup is an expression of who you are.

1 Month of Hoop Dance

Well almost...5 days left to be exact! I have really been enjoying my hoop dane and feel I have learnt a fair bit, I really need to find a big open space and get some off body moves perfected.

Ive got to say it is a great hobby and even after paying rather alot of money for a hula hoop (around £20) it has been worth it! I can feel my muscles starting to work harder and I have high hopes this will help me tone up. Im not about loosing weight Im happy with my shape its just not as defined as it once was!

This was my hoops first battle wound! I was so gutted but now it is covered in scratches and scuffs and is the perfect beginner hoop. I have a 20mm 40inch hoop, its lighter then some beginner hoops so I can do some off body work but at 40inch its a bit difficult to get isolations down. But being 40inch means on body moves are slower meaning I can practise them better and get the hang of how the hoop moves. I do plan on making my own so I can try different sizes I just need some spare money and time!!

I already have one very small 1minute video of me on youtube playing around with my hoop but I am thinking of filming one, for one month of hooping. I would like to do it almost as a log/diary of moves I learn and how I progress!

All in all I am happy to say I kept my new hobby up and have not given up on it yet! Has anyone else tried anything new this year? How are you getting on with it?

Its The Little Things.

When I am surrounded with uncertainty in my life I always stop and try to enjoy all the little things I sometimes take for granted. 1. Chill Time. Taking an hour out of life and enjoying a book and hot chocolate, or running a steaming hot bath and tv catch up. Its really important in life to make time for yourself. Whether that is 10mins or an hour it is nice to either forget the world or stop and think your next step.

2. A night out. Every Thursday with a group of friends me and Pawl will go to a pub quiz. It is nice to spend with friends having a bit of a laugh. Although sometimes it feels like a chore because we in every week. It is nice to spend a few hours away from home, with other people and just being in a different environment! I love going because sometimes I just don't want to be at home!
3. Finding the time to be together. I don't know about anyone else but when I moved in with Pawl things quickly became routine. Wake up go to work, come back make food, go to bed. Some days there really isn't a lot more that goes on! I try to mix it up, cook our favorite meals, or try to play the xbox with him (I an now a fan of the lego games) and just spend time doing things together. Sometimes it can be a night out at a gig (like the pic below) that reminds of about everything I love in him and sometimes it can be chatting about us and how our life together is going and our plans. Either way I think it is important to remember why you fell in love!
I think it is important to always stop and take note of where you are. Life sometimes throws us problems and obstacles and before we know it, we feel lost. Or we feel we live in a life with routine and nothing else. I think at the moment I feel so unsure about things that its important to me to be doing something I like and remembering why I do the things I do! If I didn't do these things I seriously think I would loose my mind! How do you make sure you are on the right path? Lots of Love Kerri x

The Perfect Pampering Bath

I had never really been a bath kind of girl! Even as a child I always found a shower more fun (I used to pretend I was standing under a waterfall) and as an adult showers are just faster and easier. It wasnt until me and pawl moved into our house and about two days later our shower broke that I really started to get into baths! I now try to have one relaxing bath a week (usually a Sunday) and I thought I would share a few of what makes my bath my 'special pamper' time!
I usually put in whatever bubble bath I have to hand mostly it is some variation of Radox, but lately I have been using a few lush bath bombs, just to mix things up a bit and give myself a real treat. I always light a candle or two, I get my candles mostly from TKMaxx, I really love anything that is fruity, minty or a light nice scent. This one is mint and eucalyptus and I love it so much. Its great at relaxing me and it just makes a bath feel that much better with a candle burning! If anyone has any really nice bargain candles or great scents let me know, I am always looking for new candles!

For my hair, I am really sticking to two products. A cleansing shampoo, something to try and help get rid of colour build up, I really love this one from bleach london, and then a really good deep conditioning mask. This Lee Staford one works like a dream, my hair always feels softer and I really do feel like this helps my hair grow, Ive gone through about four tubs and I really love it. I am at the end of this tub and I need to get myself another one!

I love to sit with this on for around ten minutes and I just sit and watch youtube and just spend maybe 20 minutes (sometimes longer) just being by myself!

What do you do for a bit of pampering time?

Lots of Love

Life Changes

Sometimes in your life you just have to stop and say 'Is this really what I want?' It gets scary when you say no and decide to make changes. Me and Pawl are going through this right now. Actually me and Pawl went to a uni open day. He wants to study drama or musical theater. He's been in bands and on stage for around 15 years and really wants to explore what he can do. I am all for it. I went to uni and I hated it because I wasn't there because I wanted to be rather just people told me I had to go to uni! But he will be there for the right reasons (considering he gets accepted) and it makes a huge difference if you want to be learning. I never got my degree because I left in my third year! However I have every confidence Pawl will take advantage of the opportunity!

He is so nervous about it all because it means a lot to him. I can't wait for him to get a degree and start making positive a positive change in his life.

For me I really want to start looking into running my own business. I've been chatting to a friend that wants to do this too and we pretty much came up with a business idea and plan within an afternoon. All I've been thinking since is how I want to do it for real. I hate working for other people, well big corporations, and my current job may be putting me into a degree of danger I am not happy with. Especially considering the other things I want in my life! I may be required to work at night in a betting shop and where peoples money is concerned I consider it to be a dangerous thing to do. I've seen people react badly and there are multiple robberies in the industry and sadly even deaths and being by myself is not something I want to do. Especially as I have a family. I have my partner and my stepson and maybe in a year or two my own little one. I know I want my own baby one day but the timing will have to be right. At the moment it is all wrong!

And while I am mumbling and dreaming of what I want with my life a house I actually own would be nice!

What are some of your life dreams?

Next - Rose Gold Watch

I have had some Next vouchers burning a hole in my pocket for the longest time! I'm not really a lover of Next for my everyday clothes, however I have always maintained that if I worked in my own clothes I would shop at next because I think their clothes are smart and nice, just not for me to wear everyday. So I have been trying to think for ages what I could spend them on!!

I was having a little mooch on the website wondering if I could order something in to the store from the sale stuff when I decided to look at the watches. Ive owned a few watches but never really loved them, they have always been for the practical aspect of having a watch! So when I saw the Next rose gold offering I decided I had to have it right away.

The way the light has hit it here it looks silver! But trust me its a lovely rose gold. You can tell more clearly in the picture below. There the big main dial and three smaller dials. It looks a lot more expensive then its £24. However sadly I don't think the three smaller dials move, although in my instructions it does say they can move but I cant figure it out yet! (To me they really do look decorative dials!)
And here's its rose gold glory!! The watch strap is a bit big for me, and in all honesty could do with having a link or two taken out because I have tiny wrists!

For now I love it and I'm really glad I got it, I feel so stylish with it, and I know it is classic looking enough to dress up a check shirt and jeans or glam up little black dress on a night out! For now I love having a watch that is aesthetically pleasing as much as it is functional! I am not 100% sure why but this exact watch is not on the next website :( you may have to look in store to find it. However there really is some beautiful rose gold watches on their website and you can have a look at them here.

Models Own Nail Polish Haul

So did anyone else go a little bit crazy in the Models Own half price sale? I loved it so much I actually made two orders, because something came back in stock after I made me first order and after seeing swatches I just had to get my hands on some more!

Up until this week I owned TWO Models Own polishes, a lovely flourescent purple and pink, I thought the application of these were amazing it all dried beautifully and the colours were just amazing. So when there was an opportunity to get twice as much as usual I was pretty much jumping at the chance to get some! I wanted to pick a good selections of glitters, normal, gels, so I think I got a pretty good haul at the end of it!

Here it is.

Ahhhh 11 things so much fun to have painting my nails! I also got a white eyeliner and a eyeshadow brush. I love the models own mini brushes that I have they are small and come with funky orange handles! So I decided I would try some of the bigger ones and got a shadow brush! But onto the polishes!!

Indian Ocean - Beethlejuice Collection, Dancing Queen - Mirrorball Collection, Cornflower Gleam - Hypergel Collection, Purple Blue - Beetlejuice Collection, White Eyeliner

Models Own - Amethyst

Models Own are a rather new brand to me. I only owned two, both are neon shades, up until there was a 50% off the entire Models Own website. I decided to try and get a good selection of their offerings, and the velvet goth collection stood out to me. Specifically this purple offering!

This is Amethyst and I love everything about it! Models Own say the velvet goth collection is a glitter matte nail polish that can be seen but not felt. Lets start off with the packaging. I love the bottles I think they look really cute. I like the Models Own packaging more then my essie nail polish. I used to think the big lid would make application difficult but actually it is really easy. I also really like the velvet lid. Its a nice touch. I am a tiny bit worried that it will attract dust and dirt. The nail polish itself is thick and packed with different glitter. You can get away with one coat like I used, because I was in a bit of a rush, or two coats for really beautiful colour pay off. The base purple colour is a matte purple shade with dark fine matte purple particles, larger purple glitter and a tiny amount of silver glitter. It makes for a really interesting nail look with very little effort. I love that the velvet goth polish really is matte yet glittery. I do have to point out you can feel this on your nails. Its not so much scratchey like some glitters can be but there is no way you can't feel this on your nails!

You can purchase the models own velvet goth collection here.

Small Book Haul

I decided that I needed to get some new books in my life. I have stopped reading so much because I didn't have the time. I have been so busy and stressed out that I have not made the time, which has made me a little sad really. I love to read as it relaxes me and calms me down. I defiantly need that calming stage in my life right now! So I took advantage of Asda's 2 for £6 offer and got,

1. Karin Slaughter - Criminal.

I love the Karin Slaughter books. I may have missed one in the series but I do know the characters in this book already so I feel like I will be able to read it and not be too lost with what's going on! I think the books unfold in a great Wayne her writing is easy to follow. This is one of the crime book series I love to follow. The other being by Richard Montinari.

2. Sophie Kinsella - Got Your Number.

The first girly book I read was by Sophie. It was twenties girl and to this day it remains one of my favorite books. So I love to read her books  every so often.

3. Lydsey Kelk - I Heart New York.

This is a completely new author to me. I had heard a lot about these books and really wanted to see how I would get on with them. When I saw that this was just £1 I couldn't leave it on the shelf. Its not a huge book and If I like how the story is going I doubt it will take me more then two days to read.

What are your favorite books to read?
