Hair Tutorial

So the last 3 days I have been wearing my hair like this. Its a french plait/braid bun kind of thing (if you have ever seen Cherry Healey on tv its like her go-to hair style!)
The first time I did this it was with freshly washed hair, it was just too shiney and soft to hold the style because I have super fine hair! But this is perfect for day after hair or for hiding greasy hair! If you are not very good at following instructions and would like a visual on this tutorial I will be uploading a video later on tonight, So you can subscribe to my youtube here,
Onto the instuctions!
1, split your hair into a side parting
2, on the side with more hair start a normal plait, towards the front section of hair.
3, every time you cross over a piece of hair add some more hair to it, so when you cross over the right strand over the middle stand of hair, take a bit extra from the right hand side with it
4, carry this on until your french braid reaches the bottom of your ear, then plait normally to the ends of your hair, hold in place with a bobby pin (or hair grip as they are usually known)
5, carry on the same french braid process of the other side however start it a bit further back so from the middle sections of hair
6, gather both plaited ends and cross over each other, while at the same time gathering the rest of your hair that is not in plaits.
7, pin this all into place to it rests like a messy bun thing on the bottom of your hair line.
You should be left with something that keeps all the hair out of your face looks nice, but is quite easy to do with some practice!
I will link the video directly when it is up and ready :)
I hope you like this xx

Eye Shimmer Nails

Confused by the title? Be confused no more!!

Basically this is how I use eye shimmers to make a beautiful shimmer nail look. I have a few eye shimmers which I never really use as I find them a bit hard to work with so while using my nail glitter one day I wondered if I could use an eye shimmer in the same way and it turns out you can. (you can watch that video to see the results of nail glitters)

Haha on my little finger the white got mixed in with the blue and made it look all funky!!
But for now Im going to give you a step by step guide to using your eye shimmers on your nails.

Step 1,
Get something to work on, a lid to a box, some paper, anything because this WILL get messy (yay shimmery messy goodness)

Step 2,
Pick your eye shimmers and put a generous amount into the lid or keep it in the pot if you will only be using it for your nails from now on.

Step 3,
Apply a coat of clear nail varnish (use a cheap one you dont want to use your best clear varnish for this) another note is to do this nail by nail DO NOT paint all your nails in one go because it will dry before you get chance to cover all the nails in shimmer! So be patient and go nail by nail.

Step 4,
Place you nail into the shimmer with the nail touching the shimmer (sounds a bit obvious but I told someone to put their nail in and they just placed their finger in hoping the shimmer would then spill over onto the nail - it didnt work out they just had shimmery finger tips instead)

Step 5,
Using an old brush, dust of any excess of shimmer that may be on surrounding skin then blow off the excess shimmer. Once you have used this brush for your nails I suggest you keep it for your nails only, you dont want this anywhere near your eyes afterwards!

Step 6,
Using steps 3-5 finish all of your nails off. You can alternate colours like I have or use just one colour.

 Step 7,
After a few minutes apply the same clear varnish over all the nails to help this last longer, don't worry this wont move your shimmer underneath it just helps protect it for longer.

Step 8,
Clean up the hell of a mess you will have made :) and then wash your hands to remove any shimmer off your skin. And you are done :)

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Let me know if you try it out.

OOTD - Yayer Dress

Today I am sharing with you a dress I brought from an online retailer called Yayer.
The dress is from the modern section of the website, which offers new clothing with a vintage or unusual taste! I love this website and wish I had more money to spend there!!
So onto the dress,
Look at my awkward stance! I didnt know if I got all the dres in or not (need to ask someone to help with these posts in future!!)

I originally didnt think I would like the print but once on this dress looks good and I love it!
It comes with a belt which is quite cool as I love to add a belt to anything!!!

Prices are reasonable this dress cost me around £20 and postage costs £4. It came within three days but you can pay extra for recorded delivery which is recommended because once it leaves them, they hold no responsibility over the garment even if it gets lost or stolen, so you can have recorded delivery but my experience with standard delivery has been good. All in all I love the styles on the website and I can not wait to save up more money and get some stuff from there!

You can go to the yayer website here,

Review - Elf Lipstick

So today Im reviewing the Elf lipstick in Seductive.
It is from the basic range and cost me £1.50
It is a lovely pink colour that is a nice everyday colour. Im hugely into my pinks at the moment and this is a lipstick I reach for all the time!

I dont think much of the packaging. It looks very cheap almost 'I come free with a magazine' packaging. I do like the clear ring where you can see the colour of the lipstick but over all the packaging does nothing for me at all.

 without flash
 with flash
On the lips this colour is highly pigmented and moisturising. This doesnt dry out my lips and lasts a good few hours. This lisptick does have a scent to it (a bit vanillia like) and some people might find this off putting but it isnt too bad for me.

Good colour payoff
Everyday colour
Long lasting

Cheap packaging
Slightly scented

My No Shampoo (No 'poo) Experience

So most of January and February I decided to try the whole No 'poo trend I had seen in the American beauty community. No 'poo is basically not using shampoo on your hair to eliminate all the chemicals that shampoo deposits on your hair and damages it.
So the history about my hair, It is super fine, bleached blonde, and gets greasy within a day! What I hoped no 'poo could achieve for me? Well I hoped I could go every other day shampooing my hair just to save on the cost more then anything, washing your hair everyday takes a lot of product and a lot of money!

No 'poo Method's

Theres a fair few of them, the first is not washing your hair at all. You leave your hair for so long your natural oils cleanse and clean the hair, leaving it healthy and shiny. This process takes a few weeks (between 4 and 8 for some people)
Baking soda shampoo and apple cider vinegar conditioner. This requires making a shampoo out of baking soda and water (mixed together at 1table spoon of baking soda to one cup of water) running this through your hair and rising off. Followed by an apple cider vinegar conditioner (made with 2 table spoons of apple cider vinegar mixed with 1 cup of water) this can either be sprayed into the hair using a pump bottle or poured over the ends of your hair. Again rinsing with water afterwards.
Shampoo Bars. This is a solid shampoo, so all the liquid chemicals are taken out leaving you with a solid shampoo bar which is used in the hair to wash it.

Method's I tried

I tried them all. After two days of not washing my hair I couldnt stand it any more. I knew I couldn't do the 4-8 weeks required for the process to work. The problem is shampoo can reduce the natural oil that your hair produces, and once you eliminate the problem your hair produces more oils to compensate for the chemicals usually in your shampoo. In my understanding your hairs natural oils are enough to clean and keep your hair moisturised and not dry. However shampoo uses chemicals to 'replicate' this natural process but limits the amount of natural oils produced. So when you dont shampoo your hair over compensates and makes more oil. It is a bit like things need to get worse before they get better. This is where it went wrong for me, my hair produced so much oil I knew I could not go out of the house without shampooing so I tried the baking soda option!
I then tried the baking soda shampoo I mixed it up and washed my hair and rinsed it all out. I skipped the apple cider vinegar step, because I never condition my hair, unless Ive just coloured it, so didnt see why I would need to now. But boy do I wish I had. My hair felt so brittle and dry. This did not make me happy, my hair is usually so soft and I hated it feelin like that. So I rushed down to lush and purchased a shampoo bar. I got one that had lemon and lime in and was formulated for greasy hair. It was a bit wierd at first because your are rubbing what looks like soap into your hair. I had to warn my family it wasnt actually a soap! I expected this to be a bad experience for me too! I have used a regular soap on my hair (when I go camping and theres not always a shower available) because the soap really dries up my hair and I can tie it up and forget about it for 2/3 days. However it leaves my hair feeling heavy/scummy/dry and all round yucky. I thought this shampoo bar would be the same! It's not :) It lathers up so nicely and washes out like a dream. After one wash my hair smelt great, felt so soft, and didnt leave any residue. It took about a week or so before I could miss a day inbetween washes and by the time my shampoo bar ran out I could go 3 days without shampooing my hair! It was a great result for me. My shampoo bar has now gone but I can still go every other day washing my hair which is great for me. When my shampoo is gone Im definatly going to go the route of shampoo bars again, my hair just felt so much healthier. If you want to try the whole No 'poo thing, I suggest trying shampoo bars if like me you have greasy hair. However if you can go roughly a week or 1-2washes a week, maybe not washing your hair at all would work for you. But read up on this whole thing just so you know what you are getting into. Not everyones experience will be the same!

Review - NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil

I got these two little beauties from amazon (I know a bit risky just like buying from ebay is, but these are genuine products and were all sealed when delivered to me) delivery took three days for one of them and another took five, which seemed strange as I ordered them at the same time!
Each one cost me about £5 and I didnt have to pay delivery so thats a bonus.

I got the colours bronze and black bean. Here are some swatches.

Sorry to say these photos are taken with a flash, the weather didnt allow me to get good shots in natural light, these are not glittery at all (they do have a slight metalic sheen especially bronze). These are highly pigmented pencils and go on so nicely.
The texture is so creamy and they are very easy to work with. They blend well and I love bronze as a base for brown or copper eyeshadows. You can apply these using the pencil itself. You can also use a brush to pick up product and place it where you like for more intricate lines for example winged liner or on the waterline. I like that I can use these for more then just being an eyeliner. I also like the sleek white packaging! The only problem is for some reason product always ends up in the lid and makes them look messy :( especially on the black!

Great Price
Creamy Texture
Nice Packaging
Highly Pigmented

Can Get Messy
You need to find a BIG sharpener to sharpen it.

I love this product and I cant wait to order some more!
